Frogmore Family
The Frogmore Family is part of the North East Hants School Sports Partnership (NEHSSP). Set up on a glorious British summers day in 2006, the Frogmore Family consists of 5 schools within the Hart area.
Frogmore Community College
Frogmore Community College is the hub of the Family and the base for Mr Tuney. Mr Tuney is a teacher at this school as well as their School Sports Co-ordinator (SSCo) along with 3 other members of the department Frogmore Community College’s Astroturf, netball playground, sports hall and vast playing fields have played as host to many courses and events for the Frogmore Family and the Partnership.
Frogmore Community College has been awarded the Charter Mark standard for its commitment, quality and provision of football including 8 current representative students at district and county level, and Mr Tuney part of the coaching setup of the current U14 district and U16 county football teams.
The college is attended by many top performing Gifted and Talented students who can all be seen in their famous ‘Hall of Fame’. Too many to mention all here but a notable student is Simon Edwards one of only 4 Young Ambassadors promoting PE and Sport for the whole NEHSSP!!
Recent competitive achievements include ‘Winners of last year's yr 7/8 girls’ partnership basketball tournament’ and raking in gold after gold at the annual Tae Kwon Do competition in Southampton.
NEHSSP school staff are also looked after at the college who host ‘staff football’ at their sports hall for 5 a-side football every Friday from 4.30-5.45pm (school weeks only). Staff in NEHSSP schools need only turn up with a smile and trainers.
Potley Hill County Primary School
This school is situated on the same site as Frogmore Community College and therefore more and more in recent years have benefitted from the use of the College’s outstanding sporting facilities. Potley is a school with many talented students and a long, long tradition of high performance in Netball and Rounders to name but two.
Led by their Primary Link Teacher (PLT) Mrs C Bennett, the school have taken on the Frogmore Family spirit and have taken part in nearly all the family and partnership events, competitions and festivals this school year. Having won one of the Family X-Country events already their performances on the Tag Rugby pitch have also vastly improved.
Potley Hill use Frogmore Community College’s Astroturf pitch and sports hall for their year 5/6 lessons and have also recently benefitted from the partnership’s community squash coach in their curriculum and afterschool club being run in Frogmore Community College’s squash courts.
Hawley Primary School
Hawley is the oldest NEHSSP School in the Frogmore Family, having entered the partnership with another Family of schools 2 years before the others. This means they are well structured for their PE and Sport and again have taken to the Frogmore Family spirit and attend as many events, competitions and courses held by the family or the partnership. Their recent successes have come in the partnership girls’ football competitions and the Family X-Country.
The school lead the way in leadership course within the family with current and ex students completing and volunteering Young Leader course before going on to help run Huff + Puff lunchtime activities and afterschool clubs.
Frogmore Junior School
Frogmore Junior is the only junior school in the Family having only students in years 3-6. Their commitment to sport in the partnership let alone the Frogmore Family is second to none! Last year over 20 extra curricular sports clubs were held over the school year.
Frogmore Juniors annually hosts arguably the best attended event in the Partnership in their Tag Rugby festival every summer term. They have set standards in hosting events. No surprise then that their recent successes have obviously come in Tag Rugby as well as Netball.
Frogmore Juniors host their 5 a-side indoor Football club every school week at Frogmore Community College’s sports hall for 2 terms of each school year and a hockey club on the college’s Astroturf pitch in the summer term.
Led by their PLT and Headteacher Mrs Lee, Frogmore have competed wonderfully so far this school year in Frogmore Family and partnership events.
Frogmore Infant School
Frogmore Infant School is situated on the same site as Frogmore Junior School and so their year 1 and 2 students benefit from having use of their wonderful field. Frogmore Infants are doing fantastically to encourage participation of their students not just in extra curricular PE + Sport clubs but also in competing against other schools in competitions such as X-Country races. This is usually an age group area which can find it difficult to take part in such events and so the achievement in the number of competing students is outstanding.
Led by their PLT and Headteacher Mrs King, Frogmore Infants have moved forward massively following on the great work started by their previous PLT. They have done brilliantly in the recent Frogmore Family X-Country competition and in the Frogmore Family Orienteering Festival last summer.
