The Fernhill Family is based around Fernhill Secondary School, with Fernhill Primary, Guillemont Junior, St Patricks Primary, Parsonage Farm Infant and Pinewood Infant representing the primary sector. The SSCO for the family is Niki Tribe.

The Autumn Term 2008 at Fernhill Secondary and Language College has been dominated by the Girls Active Festival attended by Dame Kelly Holmes. The event organised by SSCO Niki Tribe, showcased some of the innovative sport activities that the school PE Department are piloting to encourage more girls involvement in sporting activity. All of the Key Stage 3 and 4 girls from Fernhill School attended the event.  Fernhill Primary School Keystage 1 and 2 Girls also attended the day and were inspired by the performances of the Fernhill Keystage 3 and 4 Students in the show.  Following her visit DameKelly Holmes commented that she has 'never seen so much talent in one school'.

As ever, the school has taken part in the usual array of after school sporting fixtures, such as netball, basketball, cross country and football.

In the primary sector, we look forward with great excitement to the Multi-Skills festival taking place on 21st January at Fernhill Secondary, as well as the Cross Country festival on 28th January 2009. Schools from across the family will be taking part in these events.

Pinewood Infant have taken part in multi-cultural dance workshops in conjunction with Gremlin Dance Ltd, with all students showing enthusiasm and enjoyment for the topics covered. Parsonage Farm Infant School have accessed dance within the curriculum at Key Stage 1, with Gremlin Dance delivering these sessions during the Autumn Term.

fernhill Family Rugby Coaching in Curriculum/ OSHL Programme. Guillemont and Fernhill Primary have both had a Rugby Development Coach from London Irish Rugby Club attend their schools to deliver sessions within the curriculum and both have had a well attended OSHL Club. Fernhill Secondary have also had the coach in for Curriculum Development for year 7 boys and have a well attended after school club.  Fernhill Secondary were also delighted to have Premiership Rugby Star Harlequins Player Tani Guga visit their school and offer his coaching skills and expertise to students at the school, the students thoroughly enjoyed meeting such an outstanding player.

Fernhill Primary Inter school Competition Success.  Fernhill Primary School successfully took part in the Keystage 2 Cove/ Fernhill Cross Country Event held at Cove School on the 7th of October.  It was great to see over 40 children from this school taking part in the event all of which tried extremely hard and completed the 1.2km course. Well done to all of those children and parents and staff who turned out to support the event.

Fernhill Family Tennis Coaching in Curriculum/ OSHL Programme. This Term Fernhill Primary School and St Partricks Primary School have had the opportunity to develop their Striking and fielding unit of work for students in Keystage 2.  Clive Asprey from the Aldershot Tennis Centre provided two sessions per week in curriculum time, followed by a out of school hours club for students to develop their skill further and experience first hand coaching with a professional tennis coach.

In the Spring Term 2010 - Fernhill Sports Leaders will once again organise and host their annual Multi Skills Festival for all of the infant and Primary Schools that feed in to the school. The Sports Leaders will also be organising inter school fixtures for the Link schools such as a Cross Country Event based around the school grounds and a 5 a side football event.

Year 8 Girls at Fernhill Secondary undertook a scheme of work centred around the Thriller by the late Micheal Jackson.  Following this project the Fernhill Students attended a trip to see the West End Musical Show 'Thriller' at Woking Theatre, this was a very well attended trip and the students thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Autumn Term 2009 - Kicks Off with a storm as the uptake of Netball at Fernhill Secondary School has seen a surge with many students adopting a renewed

enthusiasm for the sport. Lead teacher in this area Sarah Johnson is thrilled with the amount of students who are attending Netball Training and Fixtures and sais there is many talented youngsters at the school.  Fernhill PE Departmant have also invested in buying a number of Shkirts for the girls to wear during matches.  Students now feel more comfortable taking part and smarter too.
